JERUSALEM, THE OLD AND THE NEW

Begin the day with a panoramic overview from the Mount of Olives, overlooking the new city of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Travel along the Kidron Valley to view the Garden of Gethsemane and the walls of the Old City. Enter the Western (Wailing) Wall Square through the Armenian Quarter and walk via the local Bazaar to the Christian Quarter, visiting some of the Stations of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Walk along the 1700 year old Byzantine main street (the Cardo). Conclude the tour by viewing some of the main sites of the New City by bus.

Rates for tours A and B include:

• Travel by air-conditioned coach with the services of a government licensed tour guide
• Entrance fees to sites, as per itinerary
• Pick-up and drop-offs from the Dan Jerusalem

PAYMENT FOR ACCOMMODATION AND TOURS

In order to book your accommodation and optional tours, and in order to benefit from the special rates, please complete the on- line accommodation and tours form. A deposit of one night per room is required and full payment for tours. The balance is payable (less deposit) upon your arrival at the Hospitality Desk with a 3% surcharge.  If full payment is made together with reservation (or at least one month prior to arrival) there will be no surcharge.

Payment for accommodation and tours may be made by bank transfer* or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners).  Kindly refer to the on-line accommodation and tours form.

CANCELLATION OF ACCOMMODATION AND TOURS

• Up to 45 days prior to arrival - full refund less handling fee of US$50 per room
• Less than 45 days prior to arrival - no refund of deposit on accommodation, full refund for tours
• Less than 15 days prior to arrival - no refund on tours

TRAVEL

Flights

• Participants should book their flights to Ben Gurion International Airport (near Tel Aviv) with their travel agent, or directly on the internet.
• Direct flights to Tel Aviv exist from most major airports in North America, Europe, India, China, Thailand, Brazil and Africa by El Al Israel Airlines, as well as by other international carriers.

Transportation from Ben-Gurion Airport to Jerusalem

By private taxi

• Taxis to Jerusalem are available outside of the Arrivals Hall of Ben Gurion Airport at a cost of approx. 255 Shekels (US 70$) and the average trip is about 50 – 60 minutes.

By shared taxi

• A shared shuttle service is also available to Jerusalem through a service called NESHER.
• The cost for the shuttle is approximately 56 Shekels (US $16) per person.
• There may be a short waiting time as the shuttle will only depart the airport once it is full. Passengers should advise the driver the name of the hotel that they need to be dropped off at.
• NESHER shuttles can be found outside of the Arrivals Hall (Level G).
• Please inquire at the ground airport information desk for assistance if needed.

Complimentary shuttle service from the Dan Jerusalem Hotel to the Old City:

• The shuttle departs the hotel at 11am daily to Jaffa Gate .
• Guests can return to the hotel on the light rail train.
• The name of the station closest to the hotel is "Ammunition Hill". It is about a 5 minute walk from the Dan Hotel.
